Malaga is preparing to welcome customers to the newest Tesla showroom, and the first of its kind on the Costa del Sol.
The luxury electric vehicle company, owned by billionaire and Space-X pioneer Elon Musk, has just opened the doors on its fifth Spanish showroom location on Malaga’s MA-20.
The newest location joins the ranks of superstores in Barcelona, Madrid, Sevilla, and Valencia who already have dealerships dedicated to the brand.
Located on Calle Horacio Quiroga, on the Valdicio industrial estate, the showroom will also double as a service workshop for Tesla-brand vehicles.
The Costa del Sol has proved to be one of Tesla’s main markets in Spain after selling a total of 124 vehicles in the Malaga province since 2016. Each of these sales earned the brand between €47,000 and €100,000.
The opening of the Malaga showroom coincides with Tesla boss Elon Musk’s announcement that the company will resume accepting payments in Bitcoin for its vehicles as soon as miners of the digital currency can prove that their efforts are powered by renewable energy.
“When there’s confirmation of reasonable (~50%) clean energy usage by miners with a positive future trend, Tesla will resume allowing Bitcoin transactions,” Musk tweeted.
