There is great excitement in Andalucía as Covid-19 restrictions have begun to ease over the weekend as the end of the state alarm finally arrived.
After a tough 15 months, the effective and efficient roll out of Covid-19 vaccinations along with the efforts of the Spanish people, is finally resulting in progressing as pubs and restaurants in Andalucía can now stay open until late.
As curfew came to an end, thousands of people took to the streets of Malaga to make the most of the easing of restrictions which now see restaurants stay open until 12am while nightclubs will be open until 2am.
The announcement came from the Junta de Andalucía which was widely welcomed by socialites who have been awaiting moments like this for a very long time.
While the rain poured down, it didn’t dampen the spirits of those who were out and about. However, the opening of the sector has worried some people who feel it might be a step too far and set the country back following the great progress in recent months.
Restaurant and club owners have assured that they are safely carrying out their reopenings with certain measures in place to maintain a safe environment.
As part of the safety protocols in Andalucía, there is a limit on the number of people allowed to eat and drink together. At present, just 8 people can be together in a social setting indoors while 10 people are allowed to meet outdoors.
While these rules do not come into effect until Thursday, May 13, those who would like to dine in groups of 10 or more will have to wait another while until restrictions are lifted further, it seems.
Restrictions may very but clarity will arrive this week when announcements come to inform different people so they know which health alert level covers their municipality and the numbers allowed in a group in a social setting.
It is believed that those at Level 1 will be allowed to have 10 people outdoors and 8 people indoors. Level 2 may be allowed 8 outdoors and six indoors while those at levels 3 and 4 will be limited to 4 people indoors and 6 people outdoors.
There is excitement as for many, it feels as though the world is on it’s way to resuming to normality but there is still need for compliance and great efforts to get over the line in overcoming Covid-19.
As it stands, different places are implementing different rules in order to ensure safety while also allowing for some form of normality in the country. Beaches in Marbella are being closed from midnight until 6am to try to control the spread of Covid-19 throughout groups meeting up, possibly after nightclubs and restaurants.
As restrictions become clearer this week, businesses will be able to implement safe service and provide some hope and happiness to customers.
