Those who plan on visiting the Costa del Sol this week may be imagining sand, sun, and sea. However, they will be met with some disappointment as the weather warnings continue to prevail at the popular destination.
Storms and heavy rain have blasted the Costa del Sol with poor wet weather and it is expected to stick for the entire week in some parts. The storms have unfortunately caused damage to beaches here and town halls are now working hard to repair them.
One of the most popular destinations for British tourists, Nerja, has suffered major damage to the beaches of El Playazo, La Torrecilla, and El Chucho. Torre de Benagalbon, Torre del Mar, and Torrox were some of the areas that were most affected in the region.
The local authorities have been requested to close the road which has resulted in restricted access to El Playazo beach and two other beaches. People can still access El Playazo, however, authorities are advising visitors to avoid it. Some of the walkways and showers have been damaged by the stormy weather also. Authorities are now working tirelessly to repair them on time for the Easter season.
