There has been a massive surge of police on the streets of the Costa del Sol. The increase of patrol cars and checkpoints comes as a response to loose restrictions and precautions in the face of Covid-19. Furthermore, police are checking cars to make sure those in the vehicle are wearing masks.
Yesterday was particularly busy with checkpoints in Elviria and Fuengirola, not to mention police presence around Los Boliches and Yaramar.
The crackdown has been put in place as a response to further increase of Coronavirus cases. Big outbreaks in Catalonia and Aragon have encouraged authorities in Andalucia to be extra cautious in the coming weeks.
